Welcome to My First Blog Post!

I would like to start off with explaining why I am blogging & the events that have lead up to this point. For those of you who do not know me well, I will start by saying that the last few months have been a whirlwind.

My husband [Aaron] and I have been working Dave Ramsey’s Total Money Makeover plan since December 2008. In August we officially became debt free & a week later my husband got a new position that required him to work only 6 months out of the year. These 2 things opened up a new world of possibilities for us. We were finally free to travel, move back to Florida, or basically do anything we want… and then I remembered that I have a job that I love… oops… almost forgot about that.

Being a Nutrition Coach for My Fit Foods has been my entire life for the past 3 years. I have gotten so much joy out of helping people reach their weight loss & health goals that I couldn’t help but feel depressed at the idea of giving it all up. Don’t get me wrong, I am GRATEFUL for where we are. I couldn’t be HAPPIER about it, but after nearly 5 years of working multiple jobs & sacrificing so much, all of the possibilities seemed a bit overwhelming.

So what to do? I needed a more flexible schedule to be able see my husband when he’s home, but I was afraid to make the decision to leave my job. Do I give up working for a few years to live the life of my dreams? Will I be able to find work again if I do this? I feared the impact on my future and even more, feared not having a purpose.

…That was until I considered blogging…. Ah ha! Blogging can be done from anywhere. I had considered starting a blog for over a year, but never took it seriously until last weekend when I was at the FMI Conference in Los Angeles. There realized that it was possible to expand my reach via the internet & still use my knowledge and experience to help people.

As of today, I have 4 more days as a Nutrition Coach with My Fit Foods. It makes me sad to leave, but I know I am making the right decision. I am SO EXCITED about capturing my thoughts on my blog and using the internet to help people change their lives.

Beginning in November I will be posting at least 1-2 times per week answering common fitness & nutrition questions. I am open to new ideas and hope that my posts will be informative & spark conversation. I encourage comments at the end of the posts & would love to hear your thoughts on the topics I cover. If you like my posts please subscribe to my blog & share the information. My goal is to inspire others to live a healthy life and I can’t do that if the content isn’t shared. 🙂

THANKS FOR READING! HAVE A FABULOUS DAY!
