5 Quotes to Get You Off the Couch & Into the Gym
Some days the last thing I want to do is workout. Everyone has those days, and it’s important to follow through regardless of how you feel.
In fact, I think that it is these very moments that define who we are.
The practice of daily of exercise can be a discipline that strengthens our character and improves our overall life. After all, our ability to put aside temporary discomfort in order to achieve what we REALLY want in the long run is what distinguishes “grown ups” from “children.”
Self discipline is the true mark of maturity. Age is irrelevant.
Often people associate self discipline with restriction, but the funny thing is that the more disciplined you are the more freedom you actually have to have the life you want. Self discipline really only means that you are FOCUSED enough to decide WHAT you want and WHAT you are willing to GIVE UP to get there. Here’s what I mean….
If you want to have energy and look better, have the discipline to follow a plan that will get you there.
If you want to have more financial freedom, have the discipline to make a budget and stop impulsive spending.
If you want to have better relationships, have the discipline to turn off the computer/TV/iPhone and PAY ATTENTION to the people you’re with.
At the end of the day, we reap what we sow. Be intentional in every area in your life that is important to YOU. Decide what your values are and make the changes necessary to get you where you want to go.
