Holiday Themed Protein Shakes

Yesterday after my workout I opened the pantry, saw a can of pumpkin puree and decided to see what it would taste like in a protein shake. To my delight, it was amazing– & it inspired me to search for more ways to get the flavors of the season without the calories. Below I have listed 4 protein shake recipes for your to enjoy. These would be a great option for a quick breakfast or a tasty treat any time of day.  Hope you enjoy these recipes for the holiday season! I would love to hear your feedback.

Mint Chocolate Protein Shake

  • 1 cup ice
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1 Tablespoon chopped dark chocolate
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
  • 1 few drops peppermint flavoring

Combine in a blender until smooth (198 calories, 6g fat, 13 g carbohydrates, 20g protein)

Gingerbread Cookie Protein Shake

  • 1/2 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp butter or vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 5-10 ice cubes
  • stevia to taste

Combine in blender until smooth (180 calories, 0g fat, 7g carb, 36g protein)
Pumpkin Pie Protein Shake
 

  • 2 cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • 2-3 tbsp pumpkin puree
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 3-4 shakes of pumpkin spice
  • 2 tbsp flaxseed
  • 5-10 ice cubes
Combine in blender until smooth (236 calories, 12g fat, 10g carbohydrates, 23g protein)

 

Egg Nogg Protein Shake

  • 8-10 ice cubes
  • 1/2 cup cottage cheese or greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • stevia to taste
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • Nutmeg, Cinnamon & Vanilla extract to taste
