Grass Fed Beef Burgers

Grass Fed Beef-Chorizo Burgers

Sweet summertime is here and the back yard barbecues are in full swing. If you’re looking to eat healthier without feeling like you have to give up the weekend activities you love- you’ll love this Ground Beef- Chorizo Burger recipe from the Paleo meal plan by eMeals .

The thing that makes this recipe healthier than the typical burger is that it calls for grass fed beef. “But beef is bad, right?” you ask… Not necessarily, you see beef got a bad rap for being high in saturated fat. Your typical store bought beef comes from cows that live in cramped quarters, eat a diet heavy in corn and soy, and are pumped full of antibiotics and hormones to deal with all of the issues that come from these terrible living conditions. Grass fed beef on the other hand comes from real cows that roam pastures and eat grass, like cows are suppose to. The better living conditions make for a healthier animal with less stress hormones and drugs running through there veins which translates to healthier beef for you to consume.

3 Reasons to switch to Grass Fed Beef

#1 CLA

CLA acts as an antioxidant and can help protect against heart disease, diabetes, cancer and obesity. Grass fed beef contains 2-3 times more CLA than grain feed beef. Grass fed beef has 2-4 times more omega 3 fatty acids than conventional beef. Read more about Omega 3s and grass feed products here.

#3 Vitamins and Minerals
