The Ultimate Paleo Guide
Crossfitters do it, beautiful celebrities like Jessica Alba sware by it, and unless you have been living under a rock for the past 5 years, it is likely you’ve heard of the Paleo diet… I mean “Lifestyle.” Paleo has been steadily gaining popularity and for good reason. We live in a culture that is barely surviving on high calorie, low nutrient foods and caffeine. Meanwhile… rates of obesity, diabetes, many cancers, and heart disease are all skyrocketing. With our health vanishing before our very eyes, the general population is catching on that maybe eating healthy foods should be a priority… enter “the Paleo lifestyle.”
Ways and reasons to work Paleo into your life
There are a few different degrees of the Paleo lifestyle, and the extent to which you may choose to follow it are up to you. You can go super strict, avoiding all dairy, grains and beans, you can modify slightly to meet your personal dietary needs, you can follow it 6 days on and take 1 day off per week, it’s up to you. Regardless of how you choose to incorporate the Paleo diet into your life, it’s a win because the diet promotes..
(1) consuming more vegetables
(2) prioritizing minimally processed foods and
(3) eating home cooked meals.
These are three of the most important missing pieces to the modern american diet and to improve in these areas would have a positive impact on many of the major health problems our population faces.
